Ladysmith Strategic Plan

A business-friendly culture is at the heart of Ladysmith’s 2020-2023 strategic plan. It commits the town to promoting business and employment development. It also identifies numerous investment opportunities to attract new industry sectors.
Priorities include:

  • Pursuing economic development and job creation

  • Implementing and supporting projects to maintain a vibrant downtown

  • Seeking partnerships to enhance tourism attraction

The plan focuses on four areas:

Waterfront

The town will implement its Waterfront Area Plan together with Stz’uminus First Nation. Developing a thriving Arts and Heritage Hub is one of the main goals.

 

Economy

The town will promote an environment that facilitates business development and job creation.

Infrastructure

The town will advance projects that address climate change, renew infrastructure, protect natural and built assets and accommodate future growth.

Community

The town will employ strategies and actions which maintain a diverse, vibrant and affordable community, ensuring it does do not pass undue burden onto future generations.
